Apperance: Clear, Sauternes colored, modest curtains. Darker than a normal Ardbeg, must be due to the alligator grade! Good shimmering nuances when watered down. (4) Aroma: A distinct smell of charred wood, as newly put out camp fire, some sweet fruit nuances, green pears, and a dash of sea water. (4.5) Taste: The taste is spicy, peppery, wood, coal, sweet tropical fruits, peaches, persimmons. More smoke nuances with water. (3.5) Palate: Feeling burning, slick and oily. Very smoothly warm with water. (4) Overall: A very interesting charred wood nuance to this Ardbeg, not the typical pure smokiness. (4)
