Apperance: The brew is clear dark amber with a ruby hue, a tan head, small, settling quickly, leaving lacing. heavy curtains. (4)
Aroma: Smells sweet and alcoholic! Much dried fruits, dates, figs, bitter oranges. Port whine, liqueur. Earthy nuances, yeast and wet concrete. (3.5)
Flavor: Starting also very sweet, raisins, dried apricots, dates, sherry and alcohol, a cherry seed bitterness. All flavors are very intense. (4)
Palate: Low carbonation, soft, sticky, oily, a huge body, a dry finish. (4)
Overall: This is really a beer to enjoy in very small portions with good mature cheese to balance the nearly overpowering sweetness and flavors. (4.5)
