Spring Surprise

Apperance: A clear dark amber beer, an off-white head that leaves some lacing. (4)
Aroma: The smell is floral, fruity; pears, apples, nuts, hay. (3.5)
Taste: Upfront sweet, cereal, some toast, fruits, ripe red apples, and a grassy long bitterness. (3.5)
Palate: Medium carbonation, small bubbles, a medium but good body, a dry finish. (4)
Overall: When I reviewed the 2010 version I noted "The hops are there but a bit bland, not bad but I should have liked more punch in the bitterness", this year (2011) it was more fresh hops. Much better. (4)
