Apperance: A clear deep auburn amber beer, an off-yellow head, rather small, leaving little lacing. (3) Aroma: Sweet toffee, candy and brown bread with raisins, lemon and grape-fruit. Pine needles and newly mowed grass. (4) Taste: Initially extremely malty, bread, molasses, brown sugar, rather little sourness, a bit boozy, then a distinct and long-lasting bitterness. (3.5) Palate: Medium carbonation, small bubbles, soft, alcoholic, a heavy body, a dry finish. (3.5) Overall: IMHO a bit overdone when it comes to malt and hops. Not well balanced. Worked fairly well with strong (pork) Korma. (3.5)
