Apperance: Clear golden, ripe lemon. (4) Aroma: Sweet dark bread, dried apricots and figs, toasted dark bread, freshly tarred drift wood, peat and iodine. Seaweed and salty meadows. (4.5) Taste: Staring sweet, toasted bread, dried fruits, then a considerable smoke presence, hard barbecued steak, burned wood. (4.5) Palate: Smooth and oily, a huge body. (4.5) Overall: This is for me the archetype of a good whisky, the first favorite. Still good after all these years (4.5)
