Apperance: The beer is very dark brown, borderline black, a high tan head that settles slowly, leaving tons of lacing. (4) Aroma: The smell is vanilla, sugar, plum, Madeira, sherry, nuts, almonds, and a whiff of chocolate. (4.5) Taste: First we feel an intense sweetness, syrup, candy sugar, raisins, then dark dried fruits, figs, dates, then bitter aromas, coffee beans, flour and cherry seeds. A lot of taste in this one. (4.5) Palate: The carbonation is high medium, a lot of small, foamy, bubbles, the liquid is soft, a big body, slightly oily and thick. A coarse dryness remains. (4) Overall: A very complex and intense beer, almost RIS-like to me. (4.5)
