Apperance: The beer is hazy dark brown, nearly black, a tan small head, some lacing and curtains. (4)
Aroma: The smell has dark roasted coffee beans, figs, dates, Madiera and some yeast. (4.5)
Taste: The taste is upfront sweet dark Christmas bread, bitter oranges and licorice, and a dash of cold coffee. (3.5)
Palate: A very small carbonation, soft but a rather thin body, an oily surface but a dry ending ... (3)
Overall: A bit old and slightly off at least on the feeling. (4)
