Apperance: The beer is dark brown, clear with hints of orange. A small quickly receding head, some lacing. (3) Aroma: The smell is weakly malty, slightly sour and earthy. A bit metallic, but mainly a mix of Christmas spices. (3) Taste: Upfront sweet, dark sweet spicy bread ("vörtbröd"), brown sugar, raisins and spices. A bitter, almost raw, finish, grape-fruit seeds. (4) Palate: Medium low carbonation, small soft bubbles, medium body, a coarse dry finish. (3.5) Overall: This was the 2010 edition, which I understand is the same beer as previous years. A bit uneven and raw, could be good to save a year. (3.5)
