Apperance: The beer is clear brown with ruby hints, the big tan head settles slowly and leaves lots of lacing. (4.5) Aroma: The smell is mostly vinous, with sweet dried fruits and some yeast notes. (4) Taste: The taste is in the strong wine area, Madeira and Port, with raisins, figs and dates. Rounding off with sour notes, vinegar, and some bitter citric peel at the end. (4) Palate: The carbonation is medium low, a bit higher than expected. The ale is surprisingly light. (3.5) Overall: A rather accessible barley wine. (4)
