Apperance: The beer is dark brown with a beige head leaving rather little lacing. (3.5) Aroma: The smell is yeasty vinous, sherry, somewhat citric. (4) Taste: The taste is sweet, dried fruits, dates, figs, apricot, but also a wine character, somewhat spicy and bitter coffee beans. (4.5) Palate: Low carbonation, a smooth and oily feeling. (4.5) Overall: A complex intriguing brew, not a surprise - as if Nøgne Ø would brew an uninteresting beer. (4)
