Apperance: The beer is pitch dark, almost oily, a brown head, leaving little lacing but some curtains. (4)
Aroma: The smell is roasted malts, dark bread, burnt wood and smoked sausage. (4)
Taste: Starting with a sweet taste, Madeira, then dark bread, and chocolate and coffee beans. The finish is bitter. (4.5)
Palate: Low carbonation, a complex beer, smooth and harsh. (4)
