Apperance: The beer is brown, dark brown, a bit hazy, a beige very high and firm head that leaves lots of lacing. (4.5) Aroma: The smell is ranging from malty dark bread to acid tones, sour cream, leather, hay and a whiff of old stable. (4) Taste: The taste is much sweet, caramelized sugar, dried fruits, plums, sherry, Madeira, malty tones, dark bread crust, then some bitter notes, cherry seeds, bitter almonds, a hint of salt cheese and yeast. (4.5) Palate: The carbonation is rather high, the body is complex. A long and stimulating aftertaste. (4.5) Overall: With a ripe cheese and fresh bread this beer makes a truly good meal. (4.5)
