Apperance: A clear dark amber almost brown ale, with a beige compact head that leaves lots of lacing. (4.5) Aroma: The smell is dominated with roasted tones, sweet dark roasted coffee and chocolate. Malty tones from dark bread and a sweet base with dried fruits. (4) Taste: The taste is rather sweet, caramel and dark syrup. The malt is noted as dark sweet bread, complemented with distinct coffee aroma and a burnt short bitter tone. (4) Palate: Rather low carbonation, a fresh feeling, good body. (4) Overall: A very well brewed beer, but possibly a bit too sweet. But these seasonal beers often are. (4)
