Apperance: A really black beer, with a tan head that leaves some slippery lacing. (3.5) Aroma: The smell is rather cautious, some forest fruit, sweet sherry and a hint of roasted coffee beans. (3) Taste: The taste is more bold, coarse smoky sausage base, with dark strong espresso. A hint of licorice. The bitterness is balanced with the sherry sweetness. (4.5) Palate: A mild carbonation, creamy feeling. (4) Overall: In all a very good stout - I must admit I didn't expect that from Australia. (4)
