Apperance: A brown amber beer with red hints, very small head and nearly no lace. An oily surface is seen at swirl. (3) Aroma: A very distinct almost pungent smell, stable, earth, dried fruits like dates, the alcohol is nearly overpowering. (4) Taste: A sweet heaven of dried fruites, raisins, figs, dates and apricots. Malty caramel and bread notes are there as well, with almonds and sherry tones. And of course the alcohol content is very much present. A short bitterness is noted but the overall im (4.5) Palate: Very little carbonation, but a very nice sauternes feeling. (4) Overall: This is a clear sit-and-enjoy-before-the-fire-beer, and let it last for a long time. (4.5)
