Apperance: A black beer! Brown rather small head, good lacing however. (3.5) Aroma: The smell is pungent, wood, smoke, coffee, and a musky old barn. (4) Taste: The taste is almost overpowering in it's rich smoky burnt flavors, some sweet liqorice and a good bitterness. But mostly dusty earth notes. Something like a liquid smoked sausage. (4.5) Palate: The mouthfeel is coarse, the carbonation is medium. (4) Overall: This is an interesting beer that needs the right surroundings, for example a salty hard cheese like an Edamer or a not to ripe Brie. And Celtic Punk. (4)
